Rali’s Reading Review: Louis Sachar – “The Cardturner”

Sachar1

“The Cardturner” is a bridge-revolving story about an uncle is incredible at the game. He is old, blind, diabetic and very, very rich. Different sides of the family are trying to get on his good side in order to be left something in the will. The main character was sent to help his uncle play bridge, since he cannot see the cards. At first he didn’t enjoy it, but grew to like the games. The book has a great story line but, for me, was too cantered around bridge even though that’s that point of the book. Overall it was quite a good read.
